Creating My Own LLM

As the title suggests I am working on building my own LLM. Right now I am Masters Computer Science student at PSU and wanted to make something for fun. I’ve been using my M4 Pro MacBook Pro 24 gb of memory and honestly it’s been so much fun I even named her Karlisyn aka Karli synthetic. My question realistically: how many parameters could I build her on this machine before moving her to a more powerful setup.
