How to verify a LLM provider’s zero data retention? Contract, audit, and/or attestation? TEEs?

I’m reading enough security doomer posts here and on X that I’ve gotte nreal paranoid about sensitive client docs leaking through my model use. Am I crazy or is this what you’re all seeing too? If you’re trying to set up ZDR, it’s usually subject to approvals, not on by default. OpenAI requires approval ahead of time and " reserves the right to make certain models ineligible " for a client’s ZDR ask. Anthropic says ZDR = " no storage after response, except when requiredfor legal compliance. " But Fable 5 for example requires 30 day retention and can’t be used with ZDR at all. And what…
