used claude code to figure out how airpods 3 send head tracking data, turns out nobody had done it before

first time posting on reddit so hi i wanted to control my mouse with my airpods on linux (they have a gyro for spatial audio). every open source project i found said airpods 3 weren't supported, so i spent an afternoon on it with claude code. took a lot of failed tries. at some point i just told it to send agents to dig through other projects in the background, and one of them found the actual answer in some ios framework code. airpods 3 use a different protocol than the pro models, and linux was hiding the sensors because of a bluetooth packet size setting. once that was fixed they started…
